As the danger of the COVID-19 pandemic caused many people to consider their eating habits, a South Florida-based health food company was ready to provide healthy, nutritional treats. Eat Me Guilt Free was established in 2013 out of the kitchen of Cuban-American Cristie Besu, a registered nurse and certified sports nutritionist. What began as a passion project for the mother-of-three is now a small business with over 20,000 square feet of office space.
As a sports nutritionist working with clients to craft nutrition programs, Besu saw the need for protein-packed health foods. By sourcing ingredients primarily from Europe for higher quality food standards, Eat Me Guilt Free provides healthy solutions for consumers looking to enjoy the everyday foods they love without sacrificing taste. The original recipes are hand-crafted by artisan bakers in small batches to ensure optimal freshness. The company also utilizes modified atmosphere packaging in certain products to avoid adding unhealthy preservatives.
Its products include bread, brownies, snacks and tortilla wraps to give customers a high-protein, low-carb alternative to traditional snacks and foods. Since its humble inception, the company has reached nearly $1 million in sales in its first year featured at The Vitamin Shoppe in February 2020. The products can also be found on Amazon and GNC, with exclusive subscriptions available.
