PGA National Resort Hosts Interactive Event for Golf Influencers and Fans

The ‘Battle for Palm Beach’ event will feature social media stars.

PGA National Resort will host a groundbreaking interactive fan event featuring popular golf influencer stars from Good Good Golf and Barstool’s Fore Play Pod. YouTube Golf’s popularity has surged, and the PGA Tour also joined the trend by organizing the “Creator Classic” before the TOUR Championship at East Lake, which drew over 100,000 live viewers. The upcoming major YouTube Golf event at PGA National Resort will feature a unique twist compared to its predecessors.

On Nov. 3, PGA National will host the “Fore Good Scramble,” marking the first live event to unite two leading organizations in YouTube Golf – Good Good Golf and Fore Play. The event will involve the two groups forming four teams to scramble on the back 9 of The Champions Course at PGA National Resort. Attendees can participate in the event live by purchasing tickets or watching it on Good Good’s YouTube channel. Proceeds from ticket sales will go towards benefiting Play Yellow and The First Tee.

“We are excited to host giant golf social media heavyweights like Good Good Golf and Barstool’s Fore Play Pod as well as their avid fans,” says Joseph Fisher, managing director of PGA National Resort. “This is the ideal opportunity for fans to get up close and personal with their favorite stars while both competing on our world-class golf courses and savoring one of the truly special vacation destinations in the U.S.”

Following the Fore Good Scramble, from Nov. 3 to 6, PGA National Resort will host the “Battle For Palm Beach,” a 36-hole, two-man scramble tournament featuring 50 teams vying for the title. Good Good and Foreplay will maintain their presence on-site and participate in the event, allowing golfers nationwide to test their skills against popular YouTubers. The package costs $5,500 per team and encompasses three nights’ accommodations, a warm-up round on the resort’s enjoyable par-3 Staple Course, tournament play on the property’s exceptional Fazio Course, and a final round on the renowned Champion Course, which is home to the PGA Tour’s Cognizant Classic and the renowned “Bear Trap.” Teams will receive breakfast, lunch, and drink tickets. Additionally, each participant will receive a welcome gift valued at $1,100. The winning team will be awarded prizes of $800 per player. For additional details and registration, please visit here.

“Good Good is excited to partner with exceptional organizations like Troon Events and world-class destinations like PGA National Resort,” says CEO of Good Good Golf, Matt Kendrick. “The ‘Fore Good Scramble’ and ‘Battle For Palm Beach’ are two great events that will continue the momentum of YouTube Golf’s popularity and push into the mainstream of golf entertainment.”

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico.
