Pilates & Or Launches New Studio in Boca Raton

The brand is led by Or Kahlon.

Pilates & Or is nearing the launch of its second studio with its new East Boca Raton location hosting a grand opening celebration from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2. Founded in Santa Barbara, CA, Pilates & Or is home to a contemporary and focused practice of Reformer Pilates.

At Pilates & Or, classes highlight the creative choreography designed by founder Or Kahlon, a distinguished Royal Ballet dancer with more than 20 years of experience training celebrity clients around the globe. A former soloist with the Royal Ballet of Spain and Nederlands Dans Theater, Or gained recognition as the winner of the inaugural season of So You Think You Can Dance in Israel. Drawing from his extensive dance background, Or has perfected the Pilates technique and crafted a unique method focusing on precision and athleticism in movement.

The new studio at 141 NW 20th St., Suite D2, boasts 15 Pilates reformers and an inviting welcome area. He has assembled a skilled team of instructors trained in his method, many of whom have backgrounds in ballet and extensive Pilates experience, offering a rich diversity of expertise from various parts of the world. New students can sign up for their first class for just $25.

“I’m beyond thrilled to bring my unique ballet-inspired movement to the Boca Raton community,” Kahlon says. “Pilates is very popular right now, which can make it hard to find a quality studio that is technique-focused. My choreography is inspired by my love for ballet, which sets us apart from other studios by bringing a challenging yet artistic touch to every class. My goal is that, together, we will elevate your Pilates practice while building a deeper appreciation for intuitive movement and technique.”

Its method promotes smart and intuitive movement by blending strength training and HIIT into dynamic 55-minute flow classes, providing a powerful workout that transforms the body and mind. Clients enjoy a distinct Pilates experience that fortifies the core, shapes muscles and improves posture and flexibility. The brand offers a wide range of virtual and in-studio classes at its locations in Santa Barbara and Boca Raton, along with select luxury partner facilities.

Editor-in-Chief

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico. His other clients have included Four Seasons, Acqualina Resort & Residences, Yahoo!, American Airlines, Wynn, Douglas Elliman and Corcoran. As an adjunct assistant professor, Limsky has taught journalism, film and creative writing at the City University of New York, Pace University, American University and other colleges.
