Residential Rooftop Pools Coming to Miami

As the South Florida skyline continually adds high-rise developments, the new residential buildings take advantage of the bird’s-eye viewing with a luxurious perk — coveted rooftop pools with cafes, juice bars and observation decks.

The latest crop of residential rooftop pools in Miami include:

The Standard Residences – Midtown

A first for The Standard brand, the midtown residence features a 60-foot resort-style sunset rooftop pool and whirlpool spa on the 12th floor (pictured). The landscaped rooftop will also feature a bar and restaurant. The property features 228 residences ranging from studios to two bedrooms. The Standard Residences hired Arquitectonica and Urban Robot to create a distinctively designed lifestyle building with curated amenities, including a state-of-the-art sweat room and fitness center, an infrared sauna, an indoor pickleball court that doubles as a party room pet spa, and yoga and stretch studios. A social floor features a karaoke bar and screening room, while co-working spaces come with a private boardroom and Zoom rooms. As an added perk, residents will gain access to The Standard’s “Friends with Benefits” program, which earns them preferred pricing at all The Standard hotel properties worldwide.

CasaBella by B&B Italia – Downtown

Curated by Piero Lissoni, CasaBella by B&B Italia in downtown Miami features sky-high outdoor amenities with unobstructed bay views, including a 78-foot lap pool and private observatory deck with a telescope. Internationally acclaimed Enzo Enea designed the property’s Italian-inspired gardens. Other amenities offered at the 55-story building include a 360 Wellness Center with a premiere fitness center, private yoga room, spin room, world-class spa, beauty salon, cinema, children’s playroom, cinema, wine room, museum-quality art collection, game room, adult lounge, fully-equipped business center, co-working space and pet spa.

Aston Martin Residences – Downtown

The Aston Martin Residences in Miami features a bevy of amenities comprising four entire floors, highlighted by an expansive infinity pool atop the 55th floor, offering panoramic views of Biscayne Bay and beyond. The 66-story tower’s additional amenities include a 900-foot yacht marina, curated art gallery, two-story fitness center and spa with spin room, boxing room, treatment suites, meditation room, sauna, beauty salon and barbershop, movie theaters, virtual golf, kids playroom and teen center, game room, business center and conference room, grand salon, private dining room and state-of-the-art chef’s kitchen.

Lofty Miami – Brickell

Lofty Miami boasts 360-degree river and city views from its infinity pool on the rooftop, complete with a library, lounge, and wraparound balcony. The 44-story tower’s amenities include a members-only Club Lofty riverfront terrace with private rum and cigar room, a live music stage, lounge, co-working space, and marina services with yacht slips, kayak, and paddle board launch areas. It also offers multiple lounge areas, including game spaces, cafes, and poolside daybeds, to a 3,000-square-foot luxury fitness center with private treatment rooms, sauna and steam rooms, a cold plunge pool and a juice bar.

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico. His other clients have included Four Seasons, Acqualina Resort & Residences, Yahoo!, American Airlines, Wynn, Douglas Elliman and Corcoran. As an adjunct assistant professor, Limsky has taught journalism, film and creative writing at the City University of New York, Pace University, American University and other colleges.
