Burgers for critical workers
Accounting firm Marcum, the Marcum Foundation and BurgerFi, have partnered to deliver up to 20,000 meals to hospital workers and first responders on the frontlines of COVID-19. 
 “Supporting those on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic is our priority right now, and BurgerFi is an ideal partner to help us deliver much-needed respite to these health care heroes,” said Shaun Blogg, chairman of the Marcum Foundation and Marcum’s office managing partner in West Palm Beach.
Duffie promoted at PB State
James Duffie has been promoted from controller to vice president of finance and administration at Palm Beach State College and will report directly to President Ava L. Parker.
Hotel opens in downtown West Palm Beach
Canopy by Hilton, Hilton’s lifestyle hotel brand, has opened Canopy by Hilton West Palm Beach Downtown at 380 Trinity Place. The 150-room, 13-story hotel is operated by Palm Beach-based Driftwood Hospitality Management and owned by executives of Driftwood Hospitality and Coral Gables-based affiliate Driftwood Capital.

Atlas Team joins Compass
The Atlas Team, which has 40 agents, led by principal agents Chris Franciosa and Jared Ringel, has joined Compass Florida’s newly opened Boca Raton branch at 101 N. Federal Highway.
FAU offers cannabis curriculum Florida Atlantic University has teamed with Green Flower Media to provide an in-depth online curriculum on cannabis. It includes cross-industry certifications on cannabis education for a variety of fields including health care, law, legal, agriculture and enterprise. Green Flower bills itself as the world’s largest online cannabis education platform.
Habitat keeps building
Habitat for Humanity of Southern Palm Beach County reports it has continued to build homes amid the pandemic and financial crisis. The group has been using only its own professional crew and a handful of suppliers, but is seeking to complete homes for eight families who are living in substandard housing.
Crocker Partners helps Junior League
Crocker Partners is donating approximately 1,500 square feet of space at its Boca Raton Innovation Campus, the birthplace of the personal computer, to the Junior League of Boca Raton’s Diaper Bank. The space will be used to store and distribute more than 600,000 diapers each year, serving 5,000 children.

Mizner Park has closed Plaza Real, the center’s throughway, to provide space for restaurants to expand outdoor seating.
Manufacturer donates hand sanitizer
Oxygen Development, a manufacturer of cosmetics, personal care and over-the-counter products based in Palm Spring, has repurposed its manufacturing lines to produce hand sanitizers. It is donating 50,000 units to first responders and nonprofit organizations.
A bonus: The move helped save 700 jobs. Consumers can buy products at oxygenwellness.com.
Advisory practice gains managing director
Joseph H. Littky, a certified financial planner and certified divorce financial analyst, has joined OneGroup Wealth Partners, an independent registered investment advisory practice in Palm Beach Gardens, as managing director.

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico. His other clients have included Four Seasons, Acqualina Resort & Residences, Yahoo!, American Airlines, Wynn, Douglas Elliman and Corcoran. As an adjunct assistant professor, Limsky has taught journalism, film and creative writing at the City University of New York, Pace University, American University and other colleges.
