Work starts on Centrepark Apartments Verdex Construction has started work on Centrepark Apartments, a seven-story 246-unit project at 1500 Centrepark Blvd., West Palm Beach. The project is being built for Atlanta-based Atlantic Residential and the architectural firm is MSA Architects.

Improved time slot for Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl After spending five years on the Tuesday night before Christmas and being aired on ESPN, the 2019 Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, and be televised on ABC. The game will be played at FAU Stadium on the campus of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton and will be carried nationally on ESPN Radio and locally on ESPN 106.3.
Verdex building Tampa project West Palm Beach-based Verdex Construction, led by Rex Kirby, has expanded to the west coast of Florida with the start of construction for The Pointe on Westshore, a luxury multifamily apartment community in Tampa, being developed by Westshore Pointe, a venture between Jupiter-based Index Investment Group along with minority partner Richard Coley.

Emerald View sold Emerald View at Vista Center, a 139,471-square-foot property at the northwest quadrant of the Florida Turnpike and Okeechobee Boulevard, was purchased for $40 million by a partnership including Vanderbilt Office Properties, a Chicago-based commercial real estate investment firm. The property had been part of the KBS Real Estate Investment Trust II Portfolio.

Jerry Fedele New CEO named at Boca Regional Boca Raton Regional Hospital has named a new CEO and signed a definitive agreement regarding its strategic partnership with Baptist Health South Florida. Lincoln S. Mendez was announced as the new CEO after current CEO Jerry Fedele, above, retires in August. Mendez previously was CEO of Baptist Health’s South Miami Hospital.
Big Sugar sued The Berman Law Group of Boca Raton has filed a federal class action lawsuit against U.S. Sugar Corp., Florida Crystals Corp. and nine other defendants alleging that residents in Belle Glade, Pahokee, South Bay and surrounding communities have suffered health issues from the burning of sugar cane. U.S. Sugar released a statement that said its activities are highly regulated and its farming practices are safe and environmentally sound.
Kolter Homes names manager Kolter Homes has hired Bill Ryan as its business unit manager. Ryan will oversee the ongoing development of Alton and Artistry Palm Beach in Palm Beach Gardens, lead development of the 55-plus community Cresswind Palm Beach in Westlake, and help identify future opportunities. He was previously with Home Depot’s Increase Clean Energy company.
Related lands two tenants Related Cos. has signed Comvest Partners and artificial intelligence firm Levatas as tenants in West Palm Beach. Comvest will relocate to 360 Rosemary, a Class-A office building, above, that broke ground on May 16. Levatas will locate its headquarters in converted space at Rosemary Avenue and Fern Street in Rosemary Square, formerly known as Cityplace.
