He was CEO of Colliers” South Florida from 2005 until the sale in December.

Nostrand led 35 brokers in three Collier’s offices throughout South Florida and generated revenue of over $400 million, the press release said.

This is the opportunity of my lifetime to join with two of the most well respected owners in the commercial real estate business in South Florida and lead the way to producing a new level of growth and success for NAI Miami. Our industry is changing rapidly.  We are going to stay at its forefront to deliver the best results to our clients and the best place to work for our brokers and employees, Nostrand said in the press release.

Stephen’s impressive track record makes him a natural choice for this position,” Schmidt said. “We are extremely excited to have Stephen become an integral part of our organization. He is well respected in the commercial real estate industry and will bring a great deal of experience, drive and focus to the company.”

Larkin said, “After our most recent strategic plan review, we were positioned to move growth forward by bringing in a seasoned professional to run the company’s operations so Ed and I can devote full time to client-facing activities.  Steve is the most qualified person in South Florida to do that.  We were fortunate he was available and interested.”

Nostrand is also an adjunct professor at the University of Miami’s Master’s Program for Real Estate Development and Urbanism where he has taught since 2004 and was voted Professor of the Year in 2011.
