Urban Planning

Urban planning The Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority announced that Southwest Second Avenue, between West Broward Boulevard and Southwest Second Street, will receive a major change in 2019 as part of the authority’s “Urban Acupuncture Program.” Southwest Second Avenue is a physical and visual connection between the new Brightline station, the Riverwalk Arts & Entertainment District, Himmarshee Village and the historic district, and the Riverwalk downtown. The authority wants to improve the safety and aesthetics of the corridor, while injecting a dose of high-quality urban design.
