When Tom McCawley and his son Mark, two of Fort Lauderdale’s most in-demand dentists, aren’t restoring smiles, world travel is on their calendars. Tom, who has visited 87 countries, has hauled his family on a few dozen trips around the world. “I’m the only man alive after being run over by 425-pound silverback gorilla,” he says of his Rwanda experience, and counts less perilous trips to Iceland, Portofino and Greece among his favorites. Mark was on the Rwanda trip, though, for him, it was less eventful: “I was on the other side of the same volcano seeing different gorillas.”
