Adrienne Bosh is turning her charmed lifestyle into a business opportunity. The wife of NBA star Chris Bosh is known for being decked out in tutus, hair bows and even sequin gowns as she watches Miami Heat games. Bosh admits she has taken criticism for being overly glam at games, but unashamedly has her own social media hashtag: #TeamOverdressed.

Bosh is using her love of all things fabulous and her knack for throwing elaborate theme parties to open Sparkle and Shine Darling, a 3,500-square-foot boutique/cafe/event space at a prime location on Alton Road just north of the Lincoln Road Mall in Miami Beach.

This new venture, which was expected to open this summer, will give ladies a place to escape with their friends, buy sparkly gifts or throw a memorable soiree. Bosh doesn’t want to give away too many details, but she excitedly blurts out, “There are glitter floors!�

The business idea came to her after a surprise trip to Paris organized by her husband. Her friends decorated the suite’s balcony with treasures they had collected and secretly brought from home to create a Parisian Champagne tea party. Bosh thought it would be great to bring that experience to other women.

The proud mom credits her young daughters for giving her a new sense of fashion freedom. “My little girls brought that joy back to me when I was playing dress up with them,” she says. “I was like, why am I not wearing tutus more often? I love this. I feel like I can take on the world.”

Who’s the Bosh

Bosh is becoming a momtrepreneur, even as she has a full house. She is stepmom to Trinity, 6, and she and Chris have two children together, Jackson, 3, and daughter Dylan, 2. They married four years ago this spring, and the couple has matching tattoos as a reminder of their love. Bosh, 30, brags that her husband is great at doing “all the little things,” such as ordering her favorite cocktail and leaving little love notes. She even framed one of his special notes and proudly displays it on her bedside table.

As you can imagine, it was a scary time for the tight-knit family when Chris suddenly suffered a pulmonary embolism earlier this year and was forced to sit out for the season. Bosh says it was a great reminder that life can change in an instant.

She is quick to point out that without Chris, she couldn’t do it all. “A woman is 10 times the woman she is when she is loved by a supportive partner. I could not be half of the woman I am today if I did not have this amazing husband. He has empowered me to be the woman I am to our family.”

A Heart of Gold

Bosh isn’t just supermom; she’s big on giving back to other families in the South Florida community. The power couple runs a nonprofit organization called Team Tomorrow, which focuses on children and families in need. But Bosh has her own personal passion: encouraging women and bringing them together. “I want to go to the root of the tree, and for me, that root is the woman,” she says.

Back in May 2013, Bosh created the “Today I Can” Mother’s Day Brunch, where she treated expectant and new mothers to a morning of pampering and gifts. It’s now an annual event where she focuses on ways to help mothers, even if it’s just giving them a much-needed break for the day or bringing them together with other inspiring women.

While the scheduled events are important, she also performs Random Acts of Kindness. She recalls watching the late news and seeing needy people standing in line to get vouchers for a Thanksgiving meal. She says she jumped out of bed and brought over gift cards, snacks and water to the crowd.

She describes meeting a man whose kids were sleeping in the car while he waited in the long line at 1 a.m. just to get a voucher to feed his family. “Just to see that…” Bosh pauses, as tears fill her eyes, “You can sometimes forget how rough it can be.”

So with a husband, three kids, charity work and a new business, how does she balance it all? “I am a firm believer that there is no such thing as a perfect balance,” Bosh says. “For me, the balance is knowing where your priority is each day and being OK with knowing you can’t necessarily do 110 percent in every area, every day.” ?
