Miami is considering rules that would allow new construction to be up to five feet above the base flood elevation. The proposed changes to the building code were presented at a meeting of the Miami River Commission’s Urban Infill and Greenways Subcommittee, Miami Today reported. The city commission is expected to look at the proposal by the end of February.
