Dominican Rum Brand Brugal Unveils Edición 01 Cacao

The addition is part of its new limited-edition sipping rum collection.

The first edition of the limited-edition sipping rum collection, Colección Visionaria, has been officially unveiled by the ultra-premium Dominican rum brand, Brugal. The collection was crafted by Jassil Villanueva Quintana, a Brugal family member and fifth-generation Maestra Ronera, using the world’s first Aromatic Cask Toasting technique.

Brugal rums are genuinely a representation of the Dominican Republic, and this collection is no different. The Maestros meticulously selected only the finest natural ingredients from their beloved homeland. The result is an ultra-premium sipping rum that captures the essence of the Dominican Republic. For the inaugural edition of the Colección Visionaria, Brugal infused their toasted casks with the distinct nutty, velvety, and fruity aromas of one of the island’s most treasured gems – cacao beans.

For $100 per bottle, there will only be four batches of the rare expression rum available for purchase worldwide. Brugal, a brand known for its pioneering and adventurous spirit, has embarked on a new journey with Colección Visionaria. This collection of rums is entirely inspired by their homeland. The first release in the collection is Colección Visionaria 01, Cacao, which is a tribute to Villanueva Quintana’s upbringing and heritage.

Colección Visionaria is truly one-of-a-kind among all the rums available today. The secret lies in its unique Aromatic Cask Toasting method, which Quintana developed as a fifth-generation member of the Brugal family who also happens to be a female rum master. This unique process infuses each drop of the liquid with all the rich flavors and tantalizing aromas that make it so distinct. And to top it all off, the first edition of Colección Visionaria is infused with a true Dominican treasure – cacao. Like those who came before her, Quintana has committed herself to producing outstanding rums, introducing a fresh era of rum production with Brugal’s inventive cask toasting method in creating Colección Visionaria.

“One of my most cherished childhood memories is walking amongst the cacao trees surrounding my family home,” Quintana says. “I remember the lush and green cacao fields, the bittersweet scent of the cacao pods, and the rich aromas of roasted beans,” says Jassil Villanueva Quintana. It’s this memory I wanted to recreate with the first edition of Colección Visionaria.”
