Legacy Fit Unveil State-Of-The-Art Training Facility in Little River

The location will feature premium gym offerings, co-working spaces and recovery amenities.

Legacy will be bringing its innovation and community-building fitness approach to Miami with the opening of its new location in Little River. The facility, which is set to open in the fall of 2024, will occupy 12,000 square feet, serving as a flagship headquarters for Legacy, No Days Off, NDO H2O, and No Days Off Apparel. Following a lease agreement with MVW and AJ Capital Partners, the upcoming facility will feature state-of-the-art amenities and multi-use spaces.

Manning Sumner founded Legacy as “Legacy Fit” in 2008. With an accomplished and varied career in training professional athletes and A-list celebrities, Sumner was driven by his passion for motivating people to reach their maximum potential, and he wanted to create a community of gym-goers at all fitness levels. He implemented a system where members have an encouraging team behind them, pushing them to reach their goals and become better versions of themselves daily.

Legacy has locations in Coral Gables, Doral, Fort Lauderdale, Kendall, Pembroke Pines, and Wynwood, with plans for further expansion in Nashville, TN in 2025 and other locations yet to be announced. As the brand grows, its motto of “No Days Off” reminds members and staff to never take a day off on themselves and commit to becoming their best selves in and out of the gym.

“Our goal has always been to redefine fitness and create spaces that empower and foster community,” Sumner says. “We are not here to blend in; we’re here to stand out. Little River is seeing tremendous growth right now, and we’re thrilled to be a part of the dynamic business landscape unfolding in the neighborhood. Our new location is a testament to our commitment and relentless drive to push boundaries. We are not just building a gym; we are building a hub for personal growth, wellness, and community connection.”

The new Little River facility is designed to reflect the brand’s fundamental principles and mission of delivering accessible, approachable, and enjoyable professional-level fitness outcomes through its unique Partner Interval Training P.I.T. system, which combines high-intensity interval training and resistance training, which activates opposing muscle groups and assists members in increasing their speed, power, endurance, and metabolic rate. The workout’s intensity and structure help burn fat more quickly and result in additional calories being burned for up to 21 hours after exercise. Additionally, the facility will provide personal training sessions and an open gym space, creating a collaborative environment where members can thrive together.

“Little River is a uniquely vibrant community known for its diverse collection of best-in-class local talent,” Matthew Vander Werff says, founding principal at MVW Partners. “As a health and wellness destination, LEGACY is a perfect complement to existing businesses in the neighborhood. This exciting new addition will serve as an amenity for the neighborhood’s residents and employees and those from all over Miami and beyond who frequent the neighborhood for its unique local offerings.”

The Legacy and No Days Off Little River facility will be located at 7400 NW Miami Court. It will offer a complimentary first class, and interested parties may sign up at Legacyfit.com

Editor-in-Chief

BIOGRAPHY

Drew Limsky joined Lifestyle Media Group in August 2020 as Editor-in-Chief of South Florida Business & Wealth. His first issue of SFBW, October 2020, heralded a reimagined structure, with new content categories and a slew of fresh visual themes. “As sort of a cross between Forbes and Robb Report, with a dash of GQ and Vogue,” Limsky says, “SFBW reflects South Florida’s increasingly sophisticated and dynamic business and cultural landscape.”

Limsky, an avid traveler, swimmer and film buff who holds a law degree and Ph.D. from New York University, likes to say, “I’m a doctor, but I can’t operate—except on your brand.” He wrote his dissertation on the nonfiction work of Joan Didion. Prior to that, Limsky received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude, from Emory University and earned his M.A. in literature at American University in connection with a Masters Scholar Award fellowship.

Limsky came to SFBW at the apex of a storied career in journalism and publishing that includes six previous lead editorial roles, including for some of the world’s best-known brands. He served as global editor-in-chief of Lexus magazine, founding editor-in-chief of custom lifestyle magazines for Cadillac and Holland America Line, and was the founding editor-in-chief of Modern Luxury Interiors South Florida. He also was the executive editor for B2B magazines for Acura and Honda Financial Services, and he served as travel editor for Conde Nast. Magazines under Limsky’s editorship have garnered more than 75 industry awards.

He has also written for many of the country’s top newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, USA Today, Worth, Robb Report, Afar, Time Out New York, National Geographic Traveler, Men’s Journal, Ritz-Carlton, Elite Traveler, Florida Design, Metropolis and Architectural Digest Mexico. His other clients have included Four Seasons, Acqualina Resort & Residences, Yahoo!, American Airlines, Wynn, Douglas Elliman and Corcoran.
